Star Trek: Starbase 777 - hai-phong-tubes

The tubes were a little cramped and smelled a little like an anime convention dealer's room at the end of the day. Gamer smells. Anyway at least they were well lit!

Essen kept her crawling inside the tubes light as to not make a lot of noise. She was reeeeeeeeeeally trying to go full dragon warrior here. (edited)

Mira was close behind, keeping a close pace behind Essen inside the tubes. (edited)

T'She was in the tubes for some good old fashioned tube time. But they were probably at the back of the group due to their position as a healer.

"So..... where are we going exactly? We need to get to the lower levels somehow..." Suss said, realising that none of them had done any scans or map studies of the tube systems.

Saith made a face at the smell. "Um.. down?" He posed very helpfully. Good job Sai.

Seiyya was last into the tubes- being quite tall, she didn’t want anyone behind her in case she struggled a little. Fortunately, she fit, though it was certainly uncomfy. The gamer smells did not make it any better. Still, she pressed on. “Down is a good idea, I agree with the Cadet.”

"Perhaps we should stay here for a moment while we scan? Or has the time for that passed by this point?" They asked, wanting to be helpful.

"I mean , a scan is better than no scan," Suss said as he looked up ahead at the looooong straigh path with random off shoots at different junctions. How was one to know which way to turn?

And so, T'She did some scanning! It was better to be safe than sorry at this point!

The tubes map was displayed after the little scan, indicating a path down to #interrogation-chamber ....

"It smells like the game room when I was at the..... Navy Academy," Rai mentioned, realising he probably should not announce that he attended the Free State academy at this moment.

"I don't think this is normal. At least, not for the gamers I interact with." Hmm. "Maybe it's a Space League player thing."

"I have found a path downwards, shall we make our way down? Or does someone have another idea," They spoke quietly as they looked around the group.

"Maybe it's because of... Wetness? Moisture? Don't things get more smelly when wet?" There's a few jokes I could make here but imagining them is funnier than me actually making them.

"I say so, lieutenant," Mira said to T'She.

Essen rolled her eyes out of view of Eshen. Eugh... come onnnnnn.

"Oh, yeah, actually, that makes sense. Like laundry getting all mildewy if you leave it wet for too long," Saith agreed with a nod.

What? He was just talking normally. Like Saith said, things like laundry did get smellier when wet. And, famously, dogs. "I wonder how the engineers deal with the humidity here."

Wait. More wet? "Hey, down is good and all, sir, but let's - we're not going, like, into the water, right?.." He chuckled nervously.

"Maybe a dehumidifier?" Suss offered as he continued crawling forward

"Good thinking, cadet," Mira said to Saith. "Lieutenant, does the path you found lead us to water?" Mira asked T'She.

The chamber shown did not have any water, it was just an empty room with 4 Vaadwaur lifesigns, clearly guards or something.

T'She relayed any information that they could about what they saw on the scan.

"Very good," Mira said. "Then we continue onwards. Team, we have company down there."

"Maybe there's just more moisture for those aliens. They did like to be misted." Hopefully it wasn't too moist. Bad for his hair.

"So...... who is gonna strike first?" Suss asked, seeing the exit up ahead.

“I will.” She said matter of factly. “Everyone come in behind me.”

"Right behind you, sir," Essen said.

"Those who are proficient in long range combat should go first, perhaps we would be able to shoot from an opening in the vents?" They mused, thinking that it might be useful.

"I'll stay towards the back, I'm better at short range," Mira said.

“Already on it, T’She.” She said, coming right behind Suss. “Everyone say ready and I’ll open fire.”

Saith fumbled for his phaser. Got it! "Ready when you are, sir."

Essen had her phaser in her hand. "I was born ready, sir."

"I am bread ready," Rai said clutching his phaser on his side.

"I am also bread ready," Mira said.

"Bready.. if you would," Rai narrowed his eyes, ready to fight.

"What does that even mean." What. Huh? Okay, sure.

She nodded as she aimed into #interrogation-chamber

Essen took a moment to collect herself and take a breath. Inner peace... inner peace... let the spirit of kung fu flow through you, Essen... and she opened her eyes back up to flank Kya.

Even if they were a nurse by trade, they prepared to fight if needed to, besides, there were Klingons to protect in there! Maybe the element of surprise would help them somehow.

Ato made sure to stay out of the way of the others, but readied himself to fight or treat any wounds just in case!
